A modern wedding celebrant for modern wedding ceremonies

Hello! I’m Hayley. 

As your celebrant, we’re going to be chatting - a lot (whether that’s in person, on WhatsApp, over Zoom… however you prefer). You will be telling me all about you, so here’s a little about me first. 

Originally from Hertfordshire, I lived in London for seven years before falling in love with Manchester (everything except the rain) and moved north just after lockdown. 

I spent my formative years on stage and later studying drama at the University of Exeter (including a study abroad spell in Melbourne, Australia). Storytelling and connecting with an audience has always been a huge part of my life.

For the past decade I’ve been working in television consultancy (in a nutshell - helping TV channels to decide which shows to make and buy - very niche but pretty cool!) 

I’m big into food, fitness and friends. I’m someone who laughs loudly, over-orders at restaurants, loves a big hike in the countryside and is always the last to leave the dance floor. I’m also a soppy, helpless romantic and a big believer in love and connection. 

When my husband and I got married, I had no idea that a celebrant-led ceremony was an option (I had always believed it was either a vicar in a church or a registrar at a licensed venue). It was the best day of our lives, but knowing what I do now, our ceremony would have been totally different. 

Officiating my best friend’s wedding a few years ago sparked something inside me - I instantly knew I’d found my next calling. I went on to train with and am now proudly accredited by the Academy of Modern Celebrancy.
